The Birth of Remission

The author of this web history is neither a pastor, reverend, minister, or clergy. He is a member of the laity who has simply read his Bible, starting with Genesis and ending with Revelations. This he did rather late in life at the age of nearly thirty.

He had likely read it in its entirety before since he attended Sunday School from his youth. And, the cycle of scriptures used in the weekly Sunday School lessons cover the entire Bible once every five years and repeats itself. This “fact” is based upon what he has been told.

Regular reading improves one’s understanding of any written material. And, one will find that one can harvest the type of miraculously insightful lessons that one’s most favorite and beloved pastor gives after many days and nights of diligent and focused reading.

And, since this is a translated text, one might gain a greater grasp of a passage by ruminating over different versions of the Bible. For instances, certain translations of scripture state that Christ came of the “forgiveness” of sin; others state that he came for the “remission” of sin.

The teaching of unmerited and freely available forgiveness does not truly fit the content of the scriptures. This is supported by the words of Christ in Matthew 5:17-20 (KJV). His Word states that He did not come so He might abolish the Law but so He might fulfill and one jot or tittle shall not be removed from the Law until Heaven and Earth pass away. Also, in this passage, He said the those who teach others that they should not follow the Law would be considered the least in Heaven. And, one can interpret that in different ways. It might be the case that Heaven’s inhabitant will feel that they are the least among those who walked this Earth. They led millions astray and are responsible for their damnation. And, this passage stated that those who follow the Law and teach others that they should do the same will be considered great in Heaven. Also, the Books of James, I, II, and II John, and Jude support this teaching. And, Paul teaching it is “by faith alone” is truly in the context of relaxing one extremely difficult requirement of the Law for new adult Gentile converts. That is circumcision.  He says that this faith kinship is truly established by a “circumcision of the heart” and one’s fleshly ways.

His Word says that He loves whom He chastises. If the Lord will not chasten you, you are naught more than a bastard and outside the shelter of sonship. So, consequences exist for sin. Yet, these repercussions for our actions are a method of restoration and not necessarily punitive, although they might be unpleasant.

Have you ever met teenagers whose parents let them run amuck? They are often desiring the love that comes with compassionate parental correction. Yet, such is freely available from the Lord. He is a Father for all. As such, “noble noblesse” should be the Christian rally-cry. We cannot, should not, and shall not engage in all manner of sin, assuming that we have a Carte Blanche for paying indulgences. Sadly, many ears itch for a “DoWhatChaLike” gospel. But, Shock G nor any other music idol has suffered an ignominious death for our salvation. So, live life right!

And, Christ told us, “Be ye perfect as your father in Heaven is perfect.” He would have not told us such, if it were not possible. Cease from using the permissive “yeast of the Pharisees”. Man says that “no one is perfect.” And, this is true in some aspects but not all. Scripture does say that we have all fallen short of the glory of God. This is true. And, Christians accept that none but Christ had a perfect walk His entire life. Yet, if He came for the remission of sin, we can “go forth an sin no more.”, as He command those he healed. With the Holy Ghost and its fruit one bears when it is in his life, one can exude the temperance prerequisite for gradually attaining perfect. One can strive for a perfect second. Perfect seconds can become perfect minutes. And, minutes become hours, hours produce days, days yield months, months become years, and years a lifetime as we patiently wait upon the Lord.

As His Word states, sin is a sickness. Sicknesses can enter remission, that state of religious perfection. And, unfortunately, one might fall out of remission. Yet, one can recover. As long as we have His Blood and His Spirit, we have a mighty river of His Hope.

Some denominations argue that it is by His Blood and others say that it is through His Spirit. Yet, such is a needless battle of spiritual semantics. Each is a resource the Lord supplies on this life’s journey. If we can accept forgiveness drawn from His Blood for actions outside of our control or the occasional mishaps arising from self-destructive and addictive behaviors, we will not develop the defeatist attitude that result in stumbling during future days. We can maintain our Christian self-esteem. A positive self-image protects us from self-defeating behaviors. As is said in many churches, “one must know who you are and whose you are.” When one sees himself as the child of the Great King, he carried himself differently. It might be with noble humility; yet, he will not participate in certain behaviors. Such does not befit royalty.  And, when one accepts the Holy Ghost in his life, he receives an infilling of the Holy Spirit. And, the fruit of the Spirit grow in his life.

And, this Remission was birthed simultaneously on a pair of days, Christmas and Easter. Given so we might be saved, He was born so our sins might be borne by His Body, He would perish, and see His Resurrection. Christ had a date with destiny so we might meet a pleasant eternal one. Will you accept this offer of forgiveness and remission? It might not be made again.

Interesting Experience

During a "typical" morning last week, something "atypical" occurred. The author was getting a medium soda with a shot of blue raspberry syrup at a local convenience store. It was a former Seven-Eleven that is operating under a new "regional" banner.

As he approached the register, he noticed that a young woman was waiting behind him with a large cup of coffee. It just so happened that the author had a five dollar bill on him; he usually pays with plastic. He thought this should comfortably cover the cost of a soda and coffee.

So, as he waited, he contemplated buying the young woman a cup of coffee. When his turn at the register arrived, a "still, small" voice said, "Do not buy her coffee." He felt like arguing, but did not. He did not ask, "Why not? It is only about $1.50! And, it might lift her spirits!" He just listened.

When he reached the register, the clerk asked, "Is that (the soda) all for you?". He said, "Yes.". And, the clerk said that it was on the house. He also did the same for the lady after him with the cup of coffee.

So, the Lord granted the desires of his heart and then some. His "impromptu" friend got her free cup of coffee and he kept his five dollar bill for another purpose.

Although a "small" thing, it is quite amazing how the Lord works at times.

May El-Olam be praised.

A "Hard" Saying versus a "Hard" Commandment

Scripture records the following as a "hard saying".

[Jhn 6:41-49, 51-60 KJV] 41 The Jews then murmured at him, because he said, I am the bread which came down from heaven. 42 And they said, Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? how is it then that he saith, I came down from heaven? 43 Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, Murmur not among yourselves. 44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day. 45 It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me. 46 Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father. 47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life. 48 I am that bread of life. 49 Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead. ... 51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. 52 The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying, How can this man give us [his] flesh to eat? 53 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. 54 Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. 55 For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. 56 He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him. 57 As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me. 58 This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever. 59 These things said he in the synagogue, as he taught in Capernaum. 60 Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard [this], said, This is an hard saying; who can hear it?

Those who could not reason on a "figurative" level and see that Christ's Death, Burial, and Resurrection would be a liberating event for the condemned souls of mankind had trouble fully comprehending these scriptures.

They felt that being complicit accomplices in the sacrifice of Christ's and the consumption of His Blood was an act that none of them could easily reason about it. It like many "hard sayings" grated against their collective conscious.

Yet, when He speaks, He commands. He does not suggest. Meek and Mild He might be. Yet, His Word is an Imperative of Infinite Potency, Presence, and Prescience.

And, His Commands are not always easy on one's conscience. Yet, He says, "[Mat 11:30 KJV] 30 For my yoke [is] easy, and my burden is light."

Without equivocation, He states, "[Mat 5:17-20 KJV] 17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. 18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. 19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach [them], the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed [the righteousness] of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.".

Christ came not so we might be free from any and every Old Testament Law. These are not the needless legalisms of an antiquated system of rewards and punishments. The scriptures of the Old Testament are very alive and new each an everyday plus present and intricately interwoven among the tapestry of Teachings in the New Testament.

Christ did not. does not, not will He ever condone "willful" sin and disobedience.

As the man of God whose mother gave his life an "avowed" oblation poured out for just knowing the pleasure and joys of childbirth's painfulness said,

[1Sa 15:22 KJV] 22 And Samuel said, Hath the LORD [as great] delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey [is] better than sacrifice, [and] to hearken than the fat of rams.

His Resurrection was for the Salvation of those who sinned, sin, and will sin without malice or evil intent. He died for all of those who we beaten, stoned, and killed for situation of sin which were outside of their personal control. He died for those accidental and unintentional sins.

Consider,

[Mat 21:12-13 KJV] 12 And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves, 13 And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.

Why would He show any concern for these "unjust and sinful" acts if His Blood was an atonement for such? Conducting business transactions with its many concomitant deceptions, lies, and thefts should never be done in His House. Such is obvious. These were not "accidental" but "willful" misdeeds. For such, Christ has woven a scourge from three strands.

And, if His Word is an Imperative and not a suggestion or advisement, what should "we", the modern Christian say of the following verse well-seated in His Communal Legislation found among the scriptures of the Old Testament,

[Exo 22:18-20 KJV] 18 Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live. 19 Whosoever lieth with a beast shall surely be put to death. 20 He that sacrificeth unto [any] god, save unto the LORD only, he shall be utterly destroyed.

[Lev 20:13-16 KJV] 13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood [shall be] upon them. 14 And if a man take a wife and her mother, it [is] wickedness: they shall be burnt with fire, both he and they; that there be no wickedness among you. 15 And if a man lie with a beast, he shall surely be put to death: and ye shall slay the beast. 16 And if a woman approach unto any beast, and lie down thereto, thou shalt kill the woman, and the beast: they shall surely be put to death; their blood [shall be] upon them.

We, the modern Christian should simply say, "Yea, and amen! Praise El-Olam."

The verses found in Matthew 5:17-20 (KJV) irreversibly bind three faith groups by establishing the purpose and potency of the Old Testament in the life of the Christian believer. A God-fearing Christian should not be at "odds" with any sincere God-fearing member of Judaism of Islam.

In the permissiveness of modern "developed" nations touting a message of "pluralism", sin abounds and run rampant and roughshod within the ranks of modern God-fearing religious groups. So those who "seek peace and pursue it" might not experience persecution, they must tolerate and live amongst those who advocate for anarchy and the proliferation of unchecked and unpunished sin.

The paradox in all of this is that those who seek peace often find killing difficult. While, traditionally, those who set themselves up as "gods" and promote the genocide of entire groups of humans based upon phenotypical traits versus those of personal character or behavior have very little with killing. They often do not feel an ounce of compunction when an innocent God-fearing person is unjustly killed for reason such as being a member of ethnic group which they loathe. Yet, they worship and idolize those who participate in the sins of Leviticus 20:13-16 when they are glamourized by their society and national media machine,

Tri-Couplet Poem

Ahh, that moment of eclat when ma'at meets mastery in thought and deed.

When The Paraclete envelopes one, and thus for none other one must need.

When digit and sinew orchestrate movement among the concepts in one's psyche.

Weaving a tapestry, yet unseen, a fabric for one who might live incessantly lee.

When verdant and vagal, somnolence wafts in the midst of one's destiny.

A sweet slumber, a summer eve's dream, and a bounty of blessings for many.

A Woman Like Hannah

Many years ago, when the author was young and foolish, he would fantasize about winning a large lottery jackpot. And, he would dream about helping others financially, improving the state of his community, and showering his family and friends with gifts and luxury. It was dreamt that if only he could miraculously see the "winning" numbers on automotive license plates, then he would be "richer" than he could ever imagine. It was a somewhat of a childish and child-like vision. But, what would one do with such a fortune. A few hundred million dollars after taxes can be spent quickly in the hands of a fool.

[Pro 21:20 KJV] 20 [There is] treasure to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise; but a foolish man spendeth it up.

In other words, a fool and his money is soon parted. For one, it has been claimed that the former National Basketball Association star, Shaquille O' Neal, has a hundred million dollar yacht. What would the winner of a billion dollar lottery do after he paid his taxes? Buy a yacht for each day of the week?

So, it was realized during a decade long period of chaste celibacy that the most priceless treasure in this world is having a "close" relationship with the Lord. A life of  regular daily scripture reading, continual prayer, plus consistent praise and worship is a treasure untold. Although, it just was.

So, over the past decade, when the author sees a Biblical verse on a license plate, he will look it up. A week ago, he saw "Samuel 1". He read this passage once again. And, a new insight sprung up.

Hannah a barren woman, whose husband, Elkanah, loved her dearly and gave her a worthy portion of respect, was simply unhappy. She wanted a child. She dreamt of a son.

So she might experience a mother's joy, she promised the Lord that. if she could bear one, he would serve Him for his entire life. In other words, she would give the Lord her son after He was weaned.

The author has read this passage numerous times. And, in that he is male, it never dawned upon him that Hannah must endure morning sickness, swollen feet, acne, food cravings, a swollen belly with a kicking child, and all the burdens of carrying a maturing fetus for nine months, simply so she might have this simple pleasure. This does not include the climatic pains of childbirth.

She prayed for all of that discomfort so she could enjoy a few moments of joy. Then, once she hand her blessing in hand, she must hand it over. The Lord had been promised it.

And, faithfully, when Elkanah and her son was weaned, she gave the Lord Samuel. This is faithfulness.

Like many of the fools in this world, have you ever prayed for the bounty of the lottery? Did you promise that you would bless churched with it, if you got it? Well, if you did win a billion dollar lottery, would you let it go? Could you hand the Lord the entire sum without taking a penny? Hannah did!

Decently And In Order | First Things First

Mankind can reach the distant most planets of this solar system; design, build, program, and use advanced computational devices which mimic human intelligence; plus, heal many and myriad maladies which were incurable only a century ago, yet he cannot control his own primal urges and master his members.

As he freely roams this earth and the surrounding celestial bodies, he is yet bound by sin.

Should we not put "first things first"?

What value exists in living the life of an "advanced" and "enlightened" person who is yet a spiritual "degenerate"? Such a life is the existence of a "whitewashed" sepulcher.

In many parts of this Earth, the works of the flesh are rampant. What are these? They are outlined in verse 19-21 below:

[Gal 5:16-26 KJV] 16 [This] I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. 18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. 19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are [these]; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told [you] in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. 24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

Notice verse 18 and 22 - 25 (KJV). It might seem like a mystery, if one can be led by the Holy Ghost  and not be under the Law when Christ spake what He did in Matthew 5:17-20 (KJV).

[Mat 5:17-20 NIV] 17 "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. 18 For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. 19 Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.

Did you notice what was stated in verse 22? If you are led by the Holy Ghost, your life will exude these characteristics...."against such there is no law. So, as a consequence, you will be a follower of the Law. The totality of the Law in the Old Testament, such as those given in the Book of Leviticus, is for the establishing the health and wealth of the community. This means the abolition of the behaviors described in verses 19-21 in Galatians 5 among its members.

The sole purpose of the God-fearing believer is the establishment of His Kingdom on this Earth. As Christ stated.

[Mat 16:19 NIV] 19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven."

[Mat 18:18 NIV] 18 "Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.

And,

[Jhn 10:10 KJV] 10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have [it] more abundantly.

Our abundant life and healthy and wealthy communities start when we each gain control over our individual selves and our own behaviors, exuding temperance. As the song which many of us learnt in elementary school in the 1970s in the wake of the Vietnam War states, "Let peace begin on Earth and let it begin with me. With God as our Father, brothers all are we...."

If we obtain the highest knowledge in the sciences, understanding the very fabric of existence and how the segues of time might be traversed like the sand of the sea's shore yet struggle with taming our tongue, controlling our base nature, and displacing depravity from our community, what have we achieved? Nothing. A man who has not mastered himself has mastered naught in this life, although he might have acquired a treasure trove of accolades before passing away.

[1Jo 2:12-17 KJV] 12 I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name's sake. 13 I write unto you, fathers, because ye have known him [that is] from the beginning. I write unto you, young men, because ye have overcome the wicked one. I write unto you, little children, because ye have known the Father. 14 I have written unto you, fathers, because ye have known him [that is] from the beginning. I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one. 15 Love not the world, neither the things [that are] in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that [is] in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

When one is led by His Spirit and covered by His Blood, His Grace abounds in such a man's life.

The essential key in mastering one's self if first having the appropriate Master in sight. He is your life's goal.

[Mat 6:19-24 KJV] 19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: 20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: 21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. 22 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. 23 But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great [is] that darkness! 24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

What does your eye treasure? Luxury items? Cash reserves? Fame? Popularity? Notoriety? The attractive physical features of another? What does your eye follow? Does it seek His Word? Does it see His Handiwork in His Creation? Does it see His Influence in your life's situation? What do your eyes seek?

As a man, the author has often had a wandering eye in this life. It is a thorn in his flesh. A beautiful woman with an ample curvaceous figure, lovely eyes, and an inviting smile can hold his attention for hours. At times, he cannot get such temptations out of his thoughts. Yet, not a woman in this life, including his own mother, would consider enduring a crucifixion experience simply so she could spare him those consequences. Realizing such puts the jiggle in a woman's hips in perspective. And, it helps him refocus his sights and thoughts on the Lord.

Where are your treasures? In the Worm's National Bank of Lost and Meager Intrest. In driving that new car. In wearing the most fashionable and impress clothing labels from the most expensive stores in your regional. We so love feeling above our brothers and lording our position over them. But, the Lord admonishes us about consider ourselves the greatest:

[Luk 22:24-26 KJV] 24 And there was also a strife among them, which of them should be accounted the greatest. 25 And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors. 26 But ye [shall] not [be] so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve.

Is your treasure in the arms of your spouse?

It is true that:

[Gen 2:24 KJV] 24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

[Pro 18:22 NIV] 22 He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the LORD.

Yet, Christ taught:

[Mat 10:34-39 NIV] 34 "Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. 35 For I have come to turn " 'a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law-- 36 a man's enemies will be the members of his own household.' 37 "Anyone who loves their father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves their son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. 38 Whoever does not take up their cross and follow me is not worthy of me. 39 Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it.

And, as physical light floods a dark room and the cold currents of artic air billow through warmer jet streams arising from the tropics, the Spiritual Light which Christ brings will stimulate turbulence when it meets its opposite. So, as Godly Love dispels this world's hate, peace and discord will swell with turbulent eddies.

And, a man's love for the Lord might bring bitter battles and debates between him and his spouse. Why? She might get tired of him spending so much time at the church serving the body of Christ, when she feels he should be doing certain tasks around the home. This mostly likely is the most common argument that Christian men have with their wives.

Yet, the answer is self-mastery by serving the True Master.

Beauty from Ashes | A Testimony

May El-Olam reign. He is, has always been, and will always be. Before a when or a where, He was there. His limitless borders stretch beyond the boundaries of this illusion of material transformations which we call "time". Before He said, "Let there be Light!" and spake forth the fundamental building blocks of this physical universe, the Love, Truth, Hope, and Joy that His Holy Ghost be, and the foundational spiritual principle of light dispelling darkness, He was. Throughout the existence of this universe with is constellations and galaxies, He is. After mankind's physical existence and the subatomic vibrations of all of the matter in the universe cease and this space dust simply fades away, He will eternally be. May His praises never cease echoing throughout the Heavens and on Earth. May the Creation always cry, "Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lamb!"

This author has much for which he can be quite thankful. He has been called a dreamer and nicknamed Joseph by some while a youth and young man. Yet, by his own admission, he simply has an audacity of faith. And, as outlined in Hebrews 11:1 (NIV), faith and hope are inextricably tied. An audacity of hope is the precursor for an audacity of faith.

And, this audacity prodded the author this afternoon while he surfed the world-wide web.

It is said that "knowledge puffeth up and divideth" and quite often the author was told that "his intelligence" threatened "his health and well-being" when he was growing up. In fact, his own father told him this so often that he deemed it a compliment. So, when he heard it from strangers, some of which who seemed quite perturbed at some highly sensible statement that he made, he would say, with a pleasant smile, "Thank you! My father says that all the time!". This would invariably soften the situation and scowls would become chuckles. The author simply has a case of the "can't help its" as a friend of his who is a pastor says.

Well, talking about one's intellectual feats only draws yawns and disdain from others who deem such the babblings of an grandiose ego-manic and jerk. If one is interested in winning friends and influencing others, he must speak about how great they are and not his own wonderful works, abilities, and accomplishments.

So, without giving a litany of accomplishments as an academician and visionary, it simply will be said that many of the grand feats in computing and one key accomplishment in automotive engineering were birthed through the life of this author. Although a single computer scientist does not exist who has won more that one Turing Award, the author is the source of more than one of these visions and modern computing marvels. Some of these were borne from his personal experiences and struggles while a freshman footballer (DE #73) at Vanderbilt and the consequences in his life that were an indirect result of the tragic death of Sonny Bishop (OT #73) in 1987. Yet. may the Lord get the glory for all the great blessings that have arisen. And, may he who has the blood of Mr. Bishop's death and the subsequent cover-up at VUMC on his hands never wash away that stain. May it be a burden in this existence and the after-life. Matthew 7:1-2 (KJV)

Yet, while surfing, this audacity of faith said contact one of the well-known, well-respected men who has been credited with the origination of one of these visions. And, although this computer scientist developed an idea which did not stem from him, audacity said ask him if he knows that a young man, who was driven on a football field in 1987 until he perished when his heart failed by a myopic strength and conditioning coach named Brad Bates, was the "unwilling" sacrifice that has brought forth wealth in computing for so many. And, audacity said ask him if he knew that a physician at VUMC provided an official medical diagnosis in his death which exonerated the coaching staff from any criminal or civil liabilities. And, audacity said tell him that this author underwent a similar conditioning regimen in the late summer of 1988 as a freshmen and spent time in VUMC as a result. And, it insisted that this author tell this award winning software engineer that the author has suffered for over three decades with a similar fraudulent medical diagnosis which has placed quite a burden upon his life and grossly limited his earning potential in his field, although he has post-baccalaureate degrees in computing and engineering. In fact, this medical "care" has precipitated three or four periods of homelessness.

What would you say if you were a moderately wealthy person, the typical American, and you received a note from the sweatshop worker who lived for decades in squalid conditions and made your favorite brand of 100-plus-dollar denims? Would you say, "Well, that is life."?

Much of the beauty in our lives come from the ashes that others are tasting, have tasted, and might taste until the moment that their eyes dim and a sheet of white opens up in their subconscious. At least, it is said that in this life, death and sleep might be sweet. Yet, ash is quite bitter.

Do we not have a chance at eternal life, despite life's accidental sins, because of Christ's Crucifixion and His bitter drink of vinegar mixed with gall. Diligently searching Old and New Testament scriptures will show that He did not perish, traverse the underworld of death, and resurrect Himself simply so we might sin willfully and recklessly. Matthew 5:17-20 (NIV), Christ's words during His Great Sermon on the Mount state so. He greatly valued obedience and the Old Testament Law. And, He followed it and encouraged others that they also do so in a "just manner". So, mercy is part of the cornerstone of Christ's teachings. But, ignoring and accepting the works of the flesh as "simply life" or "the way things are" He would abhor. Remember when He drove the merchants from the House of the Lord with a scourge and overthrew the tables of merchandise. Matthew 21:12 (NIV) The Lord can "wreck shop like no other" when necessary. Do not go off the deep end with this message of "meek and mild". He is, despite His Omnipotent Strength, but you cannot bully and run roughshod over El-Elon or His servants. He can bind the very spiritual wickedness which wreaks havoc in one's life with a single thought. He is out Liberator and Law-Giver. The Gracious Boundaries of His Law brings Liberty. His Power for Liberating the bound sinner is why believers pray, although we do not unanimously agree on scriptural interpretation. So, what will you bring against His Fist and His Wrath when His Thoughts our more powerful than man's most potent weapons? His Strength is Awesome and Terrifying. He can overturn mountain ranges and place continents on the bottom of the ocean's floor in the mere blink of His Eye. He is El-Ro'i.

It was the "fleshly" nature of man:

[1Jo 2:16 KJV] 16 For all that [is] in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

and the hard heart of coaches who were only interested in furthering their careers that took Mr. Bishop's life and caused the turbulence in mine. It was VUMC physicians who were only interested in protecting a hospital's reputation and limiting its financial liability in return for professional considerations, who gave these actions legal credence in the sight of the average American's credulity.

So, be thankful for your blessings and His Mercies which are new each day. The author is quite thankful for his. He could have been simply another "long-forgotten" fatality on the Vanderbilt Commodore's practice field in the late-1980s, a worn-out stepping stone in the careers of a college coaching staff who led the SEC's doormat of a football team. The author has seen many of his visions grow and flourish in the wake of those years. And, he drives one, a used Prius V Two. This is although he was homeless in sixty below wind chills during January 2018. And, these dreams all have been freely shared. Primarily so, men might remember first the Father, Son, and the Holy Ghost. Second so, those who die needlessly each day, especially at an early age, remain near our hearts. And, finally so, we all might eventually accept that those we hold as infallible, beneficent. altruistic gods who we idolize and rarely question, medical professionals, are seen for what they truly are, other humans. (Ezekiel 34) Who are just as flawed as the rest of us, including the most despicable, sniveling, shiftless, and slovenly creep that one might imagine.

And that "bitterness" that we must taste in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. May the Lord bring the Earth Beauty from the Ashes of Our Lives.

Good Day's Work

[Col 3:22-25 KJV] 22 Servants, obey in all things [your] masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God: 23 And whatsoever ye do, do [it] heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; 24 Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ. 25 But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.

While languishing spiritually during the author's early twenties, he was asked if he could help a former high-school classmate's family make a temporary move, His father was a real estate investor, who was building his wife her dream home. He was actually in the process of developing a gated neighbor, at the time. This dream house would sit within those boundaries. However, until that house was built, they would be residing in temporary lodging.

So, the author spent his day moving boxes and making trips between their beautiful old home which was in a part of town called Country Club near the local university and their new quarters. Which were much more modest but only transitional.

At the end of the day, they offered him pay. His response simply was, "Thanks for an honest day's work!" But, they insisted on paying him one hundred and fifty dollars for his time. The author knew the weakness which he was struggling with at time. He had picked up some bad habits being part of the culture of sports and athletics, in particularly, football. And, he knew that that money likely would soon be wasted on pornographic material or young women at one of the area's strip clubs and beer. So, something told him that he simply should not take it. But, being polite, he did. And, his premonition about the foolishness that would arise in his life that evening was not mistaken.

Lesson: Earning money is not always the greatest benefit of work. A good day's work is often all a man needs for recovery. It is therapeutic.

Knowing some of the personal philosophies and staunch conservatism of his classmate's parent, the author eventually wrote an apology letter and returned the one hundred and fifty dollars. He explained why he did not want the money in the first place, how he was afraid that he would waste it, how he eventually did, and what he really needed was just a "good days work".

This resulted in his classmate's father mentoring him and teaching him some aspects of commercial real estate investment. While his classmate's mother tried getting him a great paying position working in business intelligence at a local company. They valued and appreciated his transparency.

Near Perfection

Christ and His earthly brother James stated the following:

[Mat 5:48 KJV] 48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

[Jas 1:4 KJV] 4 But let patience have [her] perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

So, if He says so, perfection is obtainable. As taught, the Messiah is the only One who has walked among us and been perfect from birth until death.

Yet, nothing in scripture says the we as His Children cannot achieve perfection in this lifetime. The perfection is best translated as "right behavior". In fact, scripture suggests that we should be highly self-discipline and prudent. Ain't nothing wrong with living the life of a prude, although that of a womanizing drunkard is highly glorified in the eyes of most young men.

Perfection, deliverance from the addiction of sin, starts with a single moment of such. A minute of focused devotion and prayer in the mind, heart, and soul of a "natural" man, can be the start of minutes, days, weeks, months, and years of living the life of a perfected "spiritual" man.

[1Co 2:14 KJV] 14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know [them], because they are spiritually discerned.

[Pro 7:7 KJV] 7 And beheld among the simple ones, I discerned among the youths, a young man void of understanding,

As stated before, a perfect second can become a perfect minute. Enough perfect minutes will be a perfect hour. One perfect hour shall become many. Twenty-four perfect hours make a day of perfection.
And, such can be the days of our lives.

How does one achieve such a state of right behaviors? Get near Him, the Perfect One. Start by reading His Sermon on the Mount, and focus on His Teachings, especially Matthew 5:17-20 (KJV).

[Mat 5:17-20 KJV] 17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. 20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed [the righteousness] of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

His Law was not nullified by His Son's crucifixion. Yea, it established the Law and Grace. Upon thoroughly reading the works of Paul, especially Romans, you will see that verses discussing how "Salvation is by faith alone and not by works, lest any man should boast..." is in the context of the circumcision of adult male Gentile converts.

[Rom 3:1-31 KJV] 1 What advantage then hath the Jew? or what profit [is there] of circumcision? 2 Much every way: chiefly, because that unto them were committed the oracles of God. 3 For what if some did not believe? shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect? 4 God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged. 5 But if our unrighteousness commend the righteousness of God, what shall we say? [Is] God unrighteous who taketh vengeance? (I speak as a man) 6 God forbid: for then how shall God judge the world? 7 For if the truth of God hath more abounded through my lie unto his glory; why yet am I also judged as a sinner? 8 And not [rather], (as we be slanderously reported, and as some affirm that we say,) Let us do evil, that good may come? whose damnation is just. 9 What then? are we better [than they]? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin; 10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: 11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. 12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one. 13 Their throat [is] an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps [is] under their lips: 14 Whose mouth [is] full of cursing and bitterness: 15 Their feet [are] swift to shed blood: 16 Destruction and misery [are] in their ways: 17 And the way of peace have they not known: 18 There is no fear of God before their eyes. 19 Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. 20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law [is] the knowledge of sin. 21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; 22 Even the righteousness of God [which is] by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: 23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; 24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: 25 Whom God hath set forth [to be] a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; 26 To declare, [I say], at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. 27 Where [is] boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith. 28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. 29 [Is he] the God of the Jews only? [is he] not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also: 30 Seeing [it is] one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith. 31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.

When Paul speaks of this particular legal easement, he is doing so with compassion, fully knowing the effects of circumcision would not be long-stating in a married adult. And, most men have wives, although Paul remained celibate during his lifetime.

Notice verse 31. Granting this easement does not make the Law void; it establishes the Law and its Spirit. Notice what Paul wrote in Galatians.

[Gal 5:1-26 KJV] 1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. 2 Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing. 3 For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law. 4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace. 5 For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith. 6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love. 7 Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth? 8 This persuasion [cometh] not of him that calleth you. 9 A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump. 10 I have confidence in you through the Lord, that ye will be none otherwise minded: but he that troubleth you shall bear his judgment, whosoever he be. 11 And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? then is the offence of the cross ceased. 12 I would they were even cut off which trouble you. 13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only [use] not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. 14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, [even] in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 15 But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another. 16 [This] I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

Christ's brother, James, walked and lived near Him most of his life, and he shares that works are vital:

[Jas 2:17-21 KJV] 17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. 18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. 19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. 20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? 21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?

And, James brother, who was likely a brother in law, Jude, simply stated:

[Jde 1:1-25 KJV] 1 Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, [and] called: 2 Mercy unto you, and peace, and love, be multiplied. 3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort [you] that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. 4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ. 5 I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not. 6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. 7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. 8 Likewise also these [filthy] dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities. 9 Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee. 10 But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves. 11 Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core. 12 These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds [they are] without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots; 13 Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever. 14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, 15 To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard [speeches] which ungodly sinners have spoken against him. 16 These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling [words], having men's persons in admiration because of advantage. 17 But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ; 18 How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts. 19 These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit. 20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, 21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. 22 And of some have compassion, making a difference: 23 And others save with fear, pulling [them] out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh. 24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present [you] faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, 25 To the only wise God our Saviour, [be] glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

Currently, in this era, men who are seeking the truth in scripture are persecuted. We have brothers among the Hebrews, Muslims, Buddhist, Hindu, and others. We are looking for the truth found in scripture that defines the foundational statues which undergird a healthy community. Unfortunately, many countries, driven by a desire for amassing more filthy lucre and world control, are waging war against "Truth". Had not the Dead Sea Scrolls been found, these scriptures might be considered a mere fable in this ear or the future.

Might You Reach Near Perfection as You Draw Nearer He Who Is Perfect.

What Is All That Noise

Ever hear a commotion nearby and wonder "what is all that noise?" It might be the Lord! And, you might be in store for a miracle! So, make some commotion of your own!

[Luk 18:35-43 KJV] 35 And it came to pass, that as he was come nigh unto Jericho, a certain blind man sat by the way side begging: 36 And hearing the multitude pass by, he asked what it meant. 37 And they told him, that Jesus of Nazareth passeth by. 38 And he cried, saying, Jesus, [thou] Son of David, have mercy on me. 39 And they which went before rebuked him, that he should hold his peace: but he cried so much the more, [Thou] Son of David, have mercy on me. 40 And Jesus stood, and commanded him to be brought unto him: and when he was come near, he asked him, 41 Saying, What wilt thou that I shall do unto thee? And he said, Lord, that I may receive my sight. 42 And Jesus said unto him, Receive thy sight: thy faith hath saved thee. 43 And immediately he received his sight, and followed him, glorifying God: and all the people, when they saw [it], gave praise unto God.

Just a short note! We will let His Word speak for itself with very little commentary. Miracles are in store! Just trust Him!

These are the "Days of Our Lives"

As many would agree life is much "different" that the Lord intended. In fact, our view of it is greatly inverted. What we often deem "good" is "wickedness" in the Lord's Eyes. From the foundations of the Earth and the Universe, the Lord defined certain concepts and cycles of days and seasons. The first five verse of the Bible read as follows:

[Gen 1:1-5 KJV] 1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. 2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness [was] upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. 3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. 4 And God saw the light, that [it was] good: and God divided the light from the darkness. 5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

Notice, the cycle of a full day, as the Lord defines it and as seen by the ancient Hebrew, starts at sunset, continues through the darkness of night, is subdivided by the subsequent morning light, and ends with the setting of that day's sun.

Interestingly enough, after the creation of light, the foundation of all physical matter, as modern physicists have discovered, this singular process, the alternating cycle of Night and Day was defined.

And, as many have taught, life has "seasons". These are seasons of joy and sorrow, triumph and defeat, prosperity and paucity. But, in all season, we as believers must be content. As the apostle Paul stated,

[Phl 4:11-13 KJV] 11 Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, [therewith] to be content. 12  I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. 13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Yet, beyond the natural dynamic of the "season", we as believers also experience the "days of our lives".

In the passage from Genesis above, notice the natural progression of the cycle that God put in place. First, darkness reigns and then slowly light supersedes the darkness. And, generally, when God defined the first known "natural" cycle, he concomitantly structure the most fundamental of all "abstractions", process. A full day is a process.

And, all "processes" follow the pattern of a "full day". This is the Lord's Will.

Consider life's processes with their transitions of state, attending college, getting married, starting a "new" job. These can all be rather frightening and require a greater than average measure of faith. And, the all start in a state of "darkness" where we must face unknowns. As the Lord grows and matures us through these processes, we will eventually see the "light of day". At such a time, we can see clearly and walk boldly through our process. Yet, in the beginning, we are walking by faith and not by sight.

As the modern psalmist sings, "We must walk by faith and not by sight; we cannot see straight in the broad daylight!" As all believers know, more than one type of light and darkness exists. We can be in the midst of physical light; yet, we can be steeped in darkness, confused and unaware of what our next step in life should be. "These are the days of our lives".

Paul states in the New Testament,

[1Co 13:9-12 KJV] 9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. 10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. 11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. 12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

And, you see that this passage describes a life transition. We start out as children with a limited understanding and approach life in a certain. As we grow and hopefully mature, we take on a new approach as we enter the light of adulthood. We navigate different in light than in darkness. "These are the days of our lives/"

We cannot escape this phenomenon that the Lord instituted at the foundations of this Earth. And, although we desperately grope for direction in darkness and sometimes make "foolish" and "unwise" moves in the daylight, the Lord is with us in our days and He was with the Earth on that first cycle of Dark and Light.

So, as the Lord intended, a full day does not start in the morning with the sunrise, when we can see our way clearly. This is a "midway" point in a process that starts in "utter" darkness, when we must solely depend upon Him. "These are the days of our lives".

Without burdening the reader with a long list of examples of the evidence of this "God-given" process in scripture, the author will simply let you read about it. You can see in the Joseph in his cistern experience, the Hebrew in their Exodus and journey in the wilderness, and the lives of all the men outlined in scripture.

Stay Wondrously and Marvelously Blest; May the Lord Guide You Through the Darkness of Your Life's Night with a Pillar of Fire and Light of Your Life's Day with a Pillar of Clouds Until You Reach That Land of Promise.

What Were Your Most Memorable Dances [One Man's Celebration Is Another's Sorrow]

Even great kings will dance:

[1Sa 18:6-9 KJV] 6 And it came to pass as they came, when David was returned from the slaughter of the Philistine, that the women came out of all cities of Israel, singing and dancing, to meet king Saul, with tabrets, with joy, and with instruments of musick. 7 And the women answered [one another] as they played, and said, Saul hath slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands. 8 And Saul was very wroth, and the saying displeased him; and he said, They have ascribed unto David ten thousands, and to me they have ascribed [but] thousands: and [what] can he have more but the kingdom? 9 And Saul eyed David from that day and forward.

[2Sa 6:12-16 KJV] 12 And it was told king David, saying, The LORD hath blessed the house of Obededom, and all that [pertaineth] unto him, because of the ark of God. So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obededom into the city of David with gladness. 13 And it was [so], that when they that bare the ark of the LORD had gone six paces, he sacrificed oxen and fatlings. 14 And David danced before the LORD with all [his] might; and David [was] girded with a linen ephod. 15 So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the LORD with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet. 16 And as the ark of the LORD came into the city of David, Michal Saul's daughter looked through a window, and saw king David leaping and dancing before the LORD; and she despised him in her heart.

Yet, in each passage, the conclusions share that these outward displays of exuberant love, joy, and thankfulness resulted in King David being reviled. Why? One man's celebration is another's sorrow.

Although the Lord has an unlimited Fount of Blessing from which we can all draw, it seems that some cannot be happy at the sight of another's overwhelming joy when he is blest. The blessings that King David celebrated represented blessing for all of Israel, including King Saul and his daughter; yet, they were looking at what they "might" lose as a result, instead of what they had gained. Such feelings only come from the evil one.

For this author who was rather bookish and never attended any dances or waltzes while in high school or college, he only has a couple of dancing moments in life that really standout in his mind.

While a high school junior, he experienced his first series of unchaperoned dates. He was student-athlete who excelled academically and played three sports: football, power-lifting, and track. He was pursued and "tackled" by a young woman who had beautiful deep auburn ringlets draping her neck, lovely brown freckles, and stormy grey eyes. She set his heart-a-thumping when he first laid eyes upon her. Like most teenage romances, it was ill-fated and ended with irreconcilable differences. Yet, in the midst of the misty watercolor memories of heartache and the "silent" treatment, were some very "special" moments. One was a dance.

After their second or third movie date, they found themselves in her room in the attic of her family's house. Her mother was in the kitchen on the main floor, and her youngest siblings were in the living room watching Nestor the Long-Eared Donkey. She stood in the middle of her bedroom floor and the author sat on her bed. And, something said, "Dance!" So, the author took this young woman who made his heart throb so by the waist, and they simply started slow-dancing. He remembers the gleam in her eyes, the reddish glow that filled her neckline and cheeks, and the vigorous pounding of her heart the he felt as their torsos pressed against one another. They lost track of time as the gentle and soft sounds of music seemingly filled the room.

Worried about what a couple teenagers, who had been rather quiet for some time, might be doing upstairs in her house, her mother burst through her daughter's bedroom door like Sargent Friday asking, "What is going on in here!" Her daughter with the biggest smile said, "We are dancing, mama! Don't you hear the music!" Her mothers simply replied, "You are being so silly!".

Yet, it did not feel like silliness. It felt quite real. It felt so real that when she told him "good-bye" during the first snowfall of 1987 on the day after Thanksgiving, he felt that "thumping" suddenly stop in his chest. Although an emotional blow, the physical manifestation of the "pain" that he felt hurt worst that receiving a blow from the strongest athlete on his football team.

Although the author was size-able at nearly seventy-six inches tall, one hundred and eleven kilograms, and rather strong for a natural athlete, he had felt the sting of an unbuffered blow from the team's strongest athlete. He was seventy-inches in height and weighed one hundred and fifty kilograms. He could squat over six hundred pounds and bench press of five hundred pounds. Plus, he ran a forty yard dash in under five seconds. He was as strong as many NFL linemen.

In other words, "good bye" has never hurt so. It hurt with such force, because a lifetime of plans and "sweet" dreams ended in an instant. It was not assuaged by the resultant hug, when his earthly "love" interest just could not let go, but eventually did so reluctantly.

Yet, never marrying, that upstairs tango was the author's most memorable "earthly" dance. However, he has had a "heavenly" dance that eclipses these moments.

After his life events were forcibly interrupted by medical malpractice in the late-1990s, he decided that he would be more serious about his walk with the Lord. He renewed and strengthened his allegiance. This included spending many hour volunteering among the ministerial workers within his and other churches. He cleaned grounds and buildings. He did much of the menial work around the places of worship. He felt blest living the life of a spiritual vessel of dishonor; custodians much like commodes are not highly respected. However, the are sorely missed when they are not available.

[Rom 9:20-21 NKJV] 20 But indeed, O man, who are you to reply against God? Will the thing formed say to him who formed [it], "Why have you made me like this?" 21 Does not the potter have power over the clay, from the same lump to make one vessel for honor and another for dishonor?

[1Co 12:20-27 KJV] 20 But now [are they] many members, yet but one body. 21 And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you. 22 Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary: 23 And those [members] of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely [parts] have more abundant comeliness. 24 For our comely [parts] have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that [part] which lacked: 25 That there should be no schism in the body; but [that] the members should have the same care one for another. 26 And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it. 27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.

The days of those years were filled with diligent scriptural study and the ingestion of only Christian media. It goes without saying that the author's collection of gospel music grew. And, it was while he played one of these compact disc that something said, "Dance!". So, with the curtains and blinds on his living room window fully opened, he dance, like Daniel prayed in full-view, and was overwhelmed with the contemplation of his life's events and how the Lord had spared him on many occasions.

It seemed that the sun shown ever more brilliantly through the large picture window that faced the boulevard just west of his living room. He became lost in the moment and time simply past. This only embittered satan who had been wreaking havoc in his life for over a couple of decades, infuriated by the potential blessings he might might reap for himself and his community.

He realized he could dance in the honor of a Lord, who simply would not leave and was not temperamental. And, although the author fully knew that someday he might hear, "Depart from me!", he knew that such rejection would only come if he did not accept and follow the Lord's Statues and Commands.

[Eze 3:17-21 KJV] 17 Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me. 18 When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked [man] shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. 19 Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul. 20 Again, When a righteous [man] doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumblingblock before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thine hand. 21 Nevertheless if thou warn the righteous [man], that the righteous sin not, and he doth not sin, he shall surely live, because he is warned; also thou hast delivered thy soul.

Yet, the author knows that if he is faithful and obedient.

[1Jo 1:9 KJV] 9 If we confess our sins, [The Lord] is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

He thanks the Lord that He has never given him the "silent" treatment and always offers him a route for reconciliation.

We all deserve a memorable dance in life:

Letting Christ Drive

It has been said that one should not let satan ride, because he will insist on driving. Yet, what happens when one lets Christ command the wheel. Let us look at Luke 5:17 (KJV).

[Luk 5:1-11 KJV] 1 And it came to pass, that, as the people pressed upon him to hear the word of God, he stood by the lake of Gennesaret, 2 And saw two ships standing by the lake: but the fishermen were gone out of them, and were washing [their] nets. 3 And he entered into one of the ships, which was Simon's, and prayed him that he would thrust out a little from the land. And he sat down, and taught the people out of the ship. 4 Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught. 5 And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net. 6 And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake. 7 And they beckoned unto [their] partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink. 8 When Simon Peter saw [it], he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord. 9 For he was astonished, and all that were with him, at the draught of the fishes which they had taken: 10 And so [was] also James, and John, the sons of Zebedee, which were partners with Simon. And Jesus said unto Simon, Fear not; from henceforth thou shalt catch men. 11 And when they had brought their ships to land, they forsook all, and followed him.

In the first verse, we see that Christ is pressed upon by a throng of followers. And, He is at the Sea of Galilee or the lake of Gennesaret. This region called the Paradise of Galilee is known for its "beauty and fertility". And, the events which unfold in this passage of scripture show the Lord's Beauty and the fertility that one experiences in life after a season of obedience. For, it is better than sacrifice.

[1Sa 15:22 KJV] 22 And Samuel said, Hath the LORD [as great] delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey [is] better than sacrifice, [and] to hearken than the fat of rams.

The second verse brings about a comparison, in that, it presents a pair of ships. The fishermen who owned the ships had ended their pursuit of that day's harvest, since they had been highly unsuccessful. They had exited their vehicles of vocation and were preparing their means of production for another day. However, Christ arrived. And, this singular fact made all the difference.

In the third verse, the Savior chose Simon Peter's vehicle and entered it. He commanded that Simon set out a little from shore. This was the first act of obedience. Notice that Simon had not met Jesus before. This was the type of faith shown in Christ that one shows when he attends his first religious service. One simply accepts His Instruction and obeys on faith; he simply trust and believes.

And, then the Messiah took a seat and taught the masses. This is Simon's first act of long-suffering. He had completed a long days work in the Middle Eastern sun, likely was hungry and thirsty, plus desired the peace and quiet of his home. However, this "unknown" Teacher, who asked that he bear with His request and that he tarry with Him a while, approached him. And, in that, a lesson might last for a while and the Savior had a captive audience, Simon Peter faithfully permitted Christ's use and control of his vehicle of vocation, without murmur or complaint.

In the fourth verse, the Messiah gave Simon Peter another imperative. And, he showed some reluctance, whether it was doubt mingled with fatigue or his long-suffering was wearing thin, this fisherman asserted that he most likely would not draw in any fish, since he had been unsuccessful during the entire day. But, he said, "nevertheless at Thy Word" and obeyed. Simon Peter complied although his "natural" reasoning capacity said that "success" was not possible.

[1Co 2:14 KJV] 14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know [them], because they are spiritually discerned.

In the natural, satisfying this request seemed that it would be a futile and unproductive venture. "Nevertheless", Simon was faithful in his actions.

The sixth and seventh verse show the consequences of this faithfulness. On that day, this future apostle brought in a bumper crop of spiritual and material abundance. In fact, Simon Peter's material blessing was so great that it could be shared with those who helped reel it in.

But consider, his response when astonished by the large harvest of fish. This encounter with the Lord left him frightened.Simon knew that he had met a "special" Teacher with great power. Peter had seen a miracle.

[Luk 5:8 KJV] 8 When Simon Peter saw [it], he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord.

Ever get a miraculous blessing that you feel is truly unmerited? Afraid that the Lord will seek out and search our innermost sins. Afraid of the consequences.

[2Ti 1:7 KJV] 7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

The primary lessons in this passage: obey the Lord and be long-suffering:

[Psa 27:14 KJV] 14 Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.

The secondary lessons: let the Lord command your vehicle of vocation, use it as a platform for His Purposes and His Word, and let Him control the action of your means or production. This will produce:

[Luk 6:38 KJV] 38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

Peter gave of his time, vehicle of vocation, and means of production. This was a "tithe" of faithfulness:

[Mal 3:10 KJV] 10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that [there shall] not [be room] enough [to receive it].

Man's Knowledge versus True Wisdom

As men, we have limitations, in terms, of our natural abilities and reasoning. Yet, as New Testament scripture states...

"[Mat 19:26 KJV] 26 But Jesus beheld [them], and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible."

The boundaries and fallibility of man's machinations, in terms of scientific and mathematical reasoning, become ever more apparent as one advances in degree at the university level. This author has a post-baccalaureate in computer science and software engineering. Plus, he is an amateur mathematician who engages in pursuing "classical" problems as a recreational diversion.

Yet, man's knowledge in the advanced mathematical arts is mere foolishness in the sight of God. As the apostle Paul wrote...

[1Co 3:19-21a KJV] 19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness. 20 And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain. 21 Therefore let no man glory in men....

And, how we can glory in men! Certain names are considered unquestionable in the fields of this world's wisdom and knowledge. Currently, while reading through a "classic" textbook on conceptual physics which explained the historical development of the scientific discipline, it was revealed that Aristotle reasoned the following. "An object that was three times larger than a smaller object would fall three times as quickly." This "belief" was basically unchallenged for over a couple of millennia. Why? Who would dare question an oracle, such as the "well-respected" Aristotle. He could never be in error. Well, eventually, Sir Isaac Newton questioned this "belief" and "discovered" that objects fall at the same rate of acceleration caused by gravity. And, for over a couple centuries, Newton's reasoning is now the "unquestionable reality" of physics. In truth, many such names exist in history. These include Einstein, Bohr, Kepler, Copernicus, Socrates, Euclid, al-Khwarizmi, Erdos, and others.

Yet, as men of the Christian faith, we must agree that only one man who has walked this Earth has lived a life without flaw or blemish and spoke "Unquestionable Truths". This was Jesus of Nazareth, the Christ. Our Hebrew and Islamic brothers, the other faiths groups drawn from the Book, might disagree. Yet, they would agree that El-Olam, the Everlasting God, is Omniscient, Omnipotent, and Omnipresent. He is our El-Shaddai making timely provisions.

Yet, as stated by the apostle Peter,

[Act 10:34-36 KJV] 34 Then Peter opened [his] mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: 35 But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him. 36 The word which [God] sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (he is Lord of all:)

So, the Lord places very little value our claims of great "worldly" accomplishment. In fact, we do ourselves a "spiritual" disservice if we become an idol for others. The Lord detest the "high places" that do not glorify Him.

[2Ch 31:1 KJV] 1 Now when all this was finished, all Israel that were present went out to the cities of Judah, and brake the images in pieces, and cut down the groves, and threw down the high places and the altars out of all Judah and Benjamin, in Ephraim also and Manasseh, until they had utterly destroyed them all. Then all the children of Israel returned, every man to his possession, into their own cities.

So, a quick foreshadowing of the conclusion is this, seek the Lord's Wisdom, first, and this world's knowledge with the proper perspective, second. Our knowledge has a purpose, but know fully that it has its limits and flaws. Yet, it is like us "natural" and "imperfect".

[1Co 2:9-16 KJV] 9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 10 But God hath revealed [them] unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. 11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. 13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know [them], because they are spiritually discerned. 15 But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. 16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

An example of the limits of man's knowledge and the failings of what we so readily lean upon which is so untrustworthy follows.

Muhammad ibn Musa al-Khwarizmi was a Persian mathematician credited with the origination of elementary algebraic reasoning. He is the reason that we "balance" equations. Al-Khwarizmi's personal machination algebra is the basis of the modern mathematical reasoning that is the cornerstone of many other mathematical sub-fields and many scientific disciplines, including the physics that supports bridges and building structures, the chemistry that yields "life-saving" medications, and biology that governs political decisions concerning the environment. Yet, as we will see al-Khwarizmi will never be confused with Sesame Street's Count von Count who never lost track of a single object that he was tallying.

About the time most of us viewed Sesame Street, Easy Rider on the Electric Company, and Zoom, we also learnt concepts like one plus three was four. We saw diagrams which showed one orange, a plus sign, and three other oranges. We would count all of the oranges and deduce that four oranges was our sum. Simple enough. What if we had a box with nine books in it and were told that we should divide them in thirds? We would place them one at a time in three different bins in a "round-robin" fashion. This is the act of division, grouping, or partitioning. We started out with four oranges, and, when all was said and done, four oranges remained. Or, we started with nine books and, upon completing our operation, nine books were evenly distributed between three bins without any remaining. This is the nature of the basic operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division most children learnt in elementary school. They are "object preserving". During these operations, objects are neither created nor destroyed. This should be a quite comforting notion, since algebra is the basis of Newtonian physics which teaches that energy is neither created or destroyed; it is a universal constant that is conserved and never lost.

Yet, let us look at the nature of the modern state of the reasoning which al-Khwarizmi shared with the world, based upon the notion of counting objects, also known as mathematical implements. Consider the following:

Working as a professional mathematics tutor at a junior college has taught that students “hear” explanations or “see” the implements within a problem differently. For instance, the “normal” mathematics student will “see” the expression (15 * x)/3 + 5 = y, when x = 7, and determine that y must equal 40 based upon the defined order of operations in the "mathematical" statement.

( 15 * 7 ) = 105

( 105 / 3 ) = 35

( 35 + 5 ) = 40

And, some students with a “rare” gifting who falsely are deemed “poor” mathematicians will “hear” the instructor’s explanation that (15*7) or 105 objects exist on the right side of the equation and these mathemagically become 40 on the left. Well, how does that 105 objects on the right and 40 on the left balance under “equality”? That is quite a feat of prestidigitation.

In fact, they truly do not. The division is an act of “partitioning” or “grouping” which makes 3 bundles of 105 without any objects remaining. These are each of size 35. And, the addition augments one or more of those groups with 5 more implements. The definition of addition in algebra does not specify whether one or more of those bundles receives five additional objects. One might assume that this is done in parallel for all of the bundles. Yet, such is not by definition.

In the eyes of students who are viewing the problem from the fundamental perspective of counting “object”, like oranges or books, this affects the total number of objects represented by the final value of y. So, in the view of some, y should be 120 in 3 groups of 40 or 110 with a bundle of 40 implements plus a pair of groupings with 35 implements.

Regardless of how one views this, over a hundred objects on the right become fewer that fifty on the left. This is called an “equality” or a “balanced” equation when it is more of a “reduction” or “whittling”.  Students who see the problem “differently” from a nonstandard vantage-point are not “deficient”; they simply have an “uncommon” insight which unfortunately baffles them in light of standard teachings. While learning algebra in middle or high school, they are those ones who still grasp the fundamental teaching of counting mathematical implements, like apples and oranges or books and pencils, learnt while in the earliest years of grade school.

Upon first noticing this line of reasoning and its seeming “validity” from the standpoint of mathematical objects, memories of the other “quantitative” sciences arose where the equations manipulated often represent amounts of bosons, photons, atoms, moles, kilograms, liters, meters, moles, and so on. This makes one wonder; Could scientist be losing track of physical objects in some of our derivations with a fundamental flaw in abstract reasoning? Could this “standard” and "commonly" accepted miscounting of implements be the reason that classical physics was not fit for certain situations. Time has not permitted further investigation, since it is just the pursuit of a great understanding of "foolishness".

Does losing track of the implements, if one is measuring an electromagnetic phenomena that depends upon a number of charge particles such a current or its cousin magnetic field, have any real significance. Could the reasoning surrounding these physical properties of matter be simplified if one accounts for each implement originally present? Is engineering innovation possible if we simply "see" and "hear" what the rare few who are deemed "poor" mathematicians? Simply, because one "sees" or :hears" what others do not in a situation, does not mean that such person is "stupid" or "suffering" from a mental defect, such a hallucinogenic form of schizophrenia.

[Mat 13:14 KJV] 14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:

In that the original spirit of counting objects and balancing scales using al-Khwarizmi's methods was for keeping tallying in marketplaces and ancient production centers, it important that modern mathematics maintains the same fidelity concerning the conservation of "implements". Whether this miscounting existed from its inception or not is unknown. It might have been that deadly sin of avarice which inspired a counting technique which whittled away at hins of oil or ephahs and omers of grain so one might swindle his clients.

What is known? Man's disingenuous motivations and lust for lucre might affect his interpretations of factual counts and records. What we do know is that...

[Pro 20:14 KJV] 14 [It is] naught, [it is] naught, saith the buyer: but when he is gone his way, then he boasteth.

[Pro 28:21 KJV] 21 To have respect of persons [is] not good: for for a piece of bread [that] man will transgress.

[Pro 20:10, 23 KJV] 10 Divers weights, [and] divers measures, both of them [are] alike abomination to the LORD. ... 23 Divers weights [are] an abomination unto the LORD; and a false balance [is] not good.

[Jhn 2:13-17 KJV] 13 And the Jews' passover was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem, 14 And found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting: 15 And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers' money, and overthrew the tables; 16 And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father's house an house of merchandise. 17 And his disciples remembered that it was written, The zeal of thine house hath eaten me up.

[Pro 15:2, 14 KJV] 2 The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness. ... 14 The heart of him that hath understanding seeketh knowledge: but the mouth of fools feedeth on foolishness.

Yet, if we want True Wisdom. We only must ask.

[Jas 1:1-9 KJV] 1 James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting. 2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; 3 Knowing [this], that the trying of your faith worketh patience. 4 But let patience have [her] perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. 5  If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all [men] liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. 6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. 7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. 8 A double minded man [is] unstable in all his ways. 9  Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted:

[Pro 4:7-15 NIV] 7 The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding. 8 Cherish her, and she will exalt you; embrace her, and she will honor you. 9 She will give you a garland to grace your head and present you with a glorious crown." 10 Listen, my son, accept what I say, and the years of your life will be many. 11 I instruct you in the way of wisdom and lead you along straight paths. 12 When you walk, your steps will not be hampered; when you run, you will not stumble. 13 Hold on to instruction, do not let it go; guard it well, for it is your life. 14 Do not set foot on the path of the wicked or walk in the way of evildoers. 15 Avoid it, do not travel on it; turn from it and go on your way.

[2Ti 2:15-16 KJV] 15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 16 But shun profane [and] vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.

[2Ti 2:5-7 KJV] 5 And if a man also strive for masteries, [yet] is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully. 6 The husbandman that laboureth must be first partaker of the fruits. 7 Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things.

[Mat 5:17-20 NKJV] 17 "Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. 18 "For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. 19 "Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches [them], he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 "For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds [the righteousness] of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.

So, True Wisdom becomes apparent when one heeds and hears the Teachings in the Law.

The Bounds of Grace

What is grace? As stated on www.dictionary.com, it is evolved from terms in Latin, French, and Middle English:

ORIGIN OF GRACE
1125–75; Middle English < Old French < Latin grātia favor, kindness, esteem, derivative of grātus pleasing

And. a single term can have so many interpretations and shades of meaning. But, notice how this term is a relative of "gratis":

ORIGIN OF GRATIS
1400–50; late Middle English < Latin grātīs freely, contraction of grātiīs with favors, graces (ablative plural of grātia grace)

And, it is also a cousin of "gratuity":

ORIGIN OF GRATUITY
1515–25; < Middle French gratuite, equivalent to Latin grātuī(tus) free + Middle French -te -ty2

And, is a second cousin of a lesser used term "gratulate".

ORIGIN OF GRATULATE
1550–60; < Latin grātulātus (past participle of grātulārī to express joy), equivalent to grātul- express joy, congratulate, thank (derivative of grātus pleasing) + -ātus -ate1

We know that gratis means "free" or "without cost". And, we know that a "gratuity" is in essence an monetary payment for services rendered above and beyond what is billed. An "gratulate" is the expression of joy.

The list of denotations and connotations for "grace" are as follows:

Noun
A. elegance or beauty of form, manner, motion, or action.
B. a pleasing or attractive quality or endowment.
C. favor or goodwill.
D. a manifestation of favor, especially by a superior.

Verb
E. to lend or add grace to; adorn:
F. to favor or honor:

Notice definition (A). realizing this we can see that in terms of things that are spiritual, His Grace is a manifold term. It is first and far-most about His Elegance and Beauty of Form, Manner, Motion, and Action. The totality of scripture cries out that He is Our Most Excellent Heavenly Father. His Quality and Ways are Pleasing and Attractive. One of His Most Pleasant Ways is His Favor that He freely grants us. His Elegance and Beauty Adorn Him and He clothes us with His Favor and for His Honor He honors us.

We love hearing how He loves us, despite our iniquity.

[Rom 4:4-8 KJV] 4 Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. 5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. 6 Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works, 7 [Saying], Blessed [are] they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered. 8 Blessed [is] the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.

But, grace is much like a "gratuity". Notice that He can "freely" choose who He grants grace. It is not a guaranteed gift or gifting.

We are saved by His Grace. His Son was crucified and resurrected for our sin. He is the Way, the Truth, the Light, and the Resurrection. Yet, this is not the limits of His Grace!

We can accept the offer of salvation. But, do we accept the other forms of His Grace that comes with it, such as His Spirit and the associated Gifts of Love, Joy, Peace, Temperance, Hope, and etc. Do we accept the Grace of Obedience. Do we obey His Word?

[1Sa 15:22 KJV] 22 And Samuel said, Hath the LORD [as great] delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey [is] better than sacrifice, [and] to hearken than the fat of rams.

Are we merciful?

[Hos 6:6 KJV] 6 For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.

[Mat 9:13 KJV] 13 But go ye and learn what [that] meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

[Mat 12:7 KJV] 7 But if ye had known what [this] meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless.

Notice the third verse said "guiltless" and not "guilty". As believers in a Benevolent, Kind, Loving, And Just Heavenly Father, we must accept that consequences exist for sinful behavior. As the Law outlined in Leviticus, sin always costs the sinner a beautiful, precious, and valuable possession, such a lamb without spot or blemish. Sin cost a man some of the "best" that the Lord has given him.

Consider, the following verses:

[Pro 5:3-13 KJV] 3 For the lips of a strange woman drop [as] an honeycomb, and her mouth [is] smoother than oil: 4 But her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a twoedged sword. 5 Her feet go down to death; her steps take hold on hell. 6 Lest thou shouldest ponder the path of life, her ways are moveable, [that] thou canst not know [them]. 7 Hear me now therefore, O ye children, and depart not from the words of my mouth. 8 Remove thy way far from her, and come not nigh the door of her house: 9 Lest thou give thine honour unto others, and thy years unto the cruel: 10 Lest strangers be filled with thy wealth; and thy labours [be] in the house of a stranger; 11 And thou mourn at the last, when thy flesh and thy body are consumed, 12 And say, How have I hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof; 13 And have not obeyed the voice of my teachers, nor inclined mine ear to them that instructed me!

Verse 10 is quite a penalty for letting oneself be seduced and yielding when temptation comes! Yet, let His Word be true and every man a liar!

[Rom 3:4 KJV] 4 God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.

He is Just, and, if we do not accept His Judgement, we deny His Beautiful Grace and nullify our sonship.

[Heb 12:5-11 KJV] 5 And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: 6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. 7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? 8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons. 9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected [us], and we gave [them] reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live? 10 For they verily for a few days chastened [us] after their own pleasure; but he for [our] profit, that [we] might be partakers of his holiness. 11 Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.

Many adults have the addictions that they have because they were "disowned" by imperfect earthly parents and not properly chastised when they first strayed from their "original" parental teaching. The Heavenly Father sent His Son so we might have life and have it more abundantly, free from any unhealthy behaviors, not matter how seemingly small, common, and insignificant. This is part of His Grace.

We get a certain measure of His Grace by simply obeying scriptures the best the we can. If we do what He tells us, we will fair quite well. That might not be financially, but an abundant, joyous life full of grace is worth more than many treasures.

One could give a detailed description of each statute found in scripture and an exposition on how following it will bring forth many blessings. And, the come from just doing what one is told.

Consider,

[Phl 4:4-8 KJV] 4 Rejoice in the Lord alway: [and] again I say, Rejoice. 5 Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord [is] at hand. 6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things [are] honest, whatsoever things [are] just, whatsoever things [are] pure, whatsoever things [are] lovely, whatsoever things [are] of good report; if [there be] any virtue, and if [there be] any praise, think on these things.

Just following these teachings and rules for living would save many men thousands per year in medical bills from behavioral health specialists.

If you have not taken the time, read His Word it will bless you and you will be Bound by Grace.

[Rom 6:16-23 KJV] 16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? 17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. 18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness. 19 I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness. 20 For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness. 21 What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things [is] death. 22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. 23 For the wages of sin [is] death; but the gift of God [is] eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Be Blest and Live as His Servant!
